Hot-spot detection at stand-off range
A fire starts as a pixel of heat. Thermal at stand-off range is how you get an alarm while a crew can still walk to it with a tool, not a tanker.
Forest edge, scrap yards, and charging fields do not wait for a flame detector that needs a fireball. Uncooled thermal with a hot-spot or temperature mode scans a sector and flags a delta against the background. Cooled cores stretch that sector when the belt is kilometers wide.
We quote cameras whose datasheets publish detection range for a small heat source — not only “human at 2 km.” That number is the buy for this mission.
